Laura Labelle

Why you started the company?

I worked with another rescue for almost 7 years and rescue became my passion. I was fostering and volunteering with my daughters and it was such a bonding family experience. We then decided to create our own rescue, The Labelle Foundation, that specializes in medical, neonatal orphans and rescuing dogs that have difficulty getting out of shelter.

Favorite part of working in rescue

My favorite part of rescue is finding difficult dogs – old, sick, challenged, different, their perfect match. I love placing and helping the dogs that some wouldn’t think have a chance but we get to turn their lives around. I also love working with my team and my daughter! I couldn’t do it without them!

I started my career in production as a stage manager, then became a chef and ran restaurants. I love running a production and putting all the pieces together – which is something I took to starting a rescue! I loved starting a rescue with my daughters and now we have a grand-daughter – it’s a real family affair!
